Your law library is a portal into the realm of legal research and information. If you use it, your law library becomes a veritable bedrock for any legal task. In light of this fact, we'll dedicate a post each Thursday to a different tome (resource) that we have in our collection that is useful to you, whether you are a student conducting research or a practicing attorney seeking more information. This week, we'd like to highlight two items in our Florida collection. Both of these titles are invaluable resources for litigation practice because they provide detailed, step-by-step instructions and outlines for jury instructions in the state of Florida.
This title includes jury instructions for all types of civil cases in Florida. Sample instructions include: negligence, products liability, false imprisonment, and misrepresentation among many others. These sample instructions include the complete phrasing for each specific jury instruction. The appendices include model jury instructions as well as verdict forms and information on how to write and use jury instructions in civil cases.
This title is similar to the Florida Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases. Just like that title, Florida Standard Jury Instructions in Criminal Cases includes jury instructions for all types of criminal cases in Florida. Sample instructions include: homicide, kidnapping, perjury, and burglary among many others. These sample instructions include phrasing for each instruction, separated out into numerous subparts. The appendices include a schedule of lesser included offenses and information on how to write and use jury instructions in criminal cases.
